Hattel Horse closes down as a precaution against EHV-1

As of Monday, 8th March, Hattel Horse will close down the stables from all equine traffic from other stables as a precaution to prevent the current outbreak of EHV-1 to spread within the country. This measure is in force at least until 21st March and follows the exemplary decision of several Finnish stables already closed down for the same purpose. We are also stopping all import of horses to Finland until further notice.

Hattel Horse on päättänyt seurata ensimmäisten suomalaisten tallien vastuullista esimerkkiä ja sulkea tallinsa ulkopuolisilta ratsukoilta varotoimenpiteenä EHV-1 -viruksen pahenevan leviämisen varalta ainakin ajalla 8.3.-21.3.2021.
Tätä edelsi jo päätös hevosten tuonnin keskeyttämisestä ulkomailta toistaiseksi.
Seuraamme tilannetta ja viranomaisohjeistuksia ja toivomme voivamme palata normaaliin 22.3.2021 lähtien.

  1. EHV-1 has not hit Finland with the impact we expected and we can lift the closure for now. This means, that we again take external students in but only to the riding hall and on certain times. The stables remain closed from all external horses.
We will continue to follow the epidemic and any future countermeasures will be decided upon separately.
